Château Carbonnieux 2020
Château Carbonnieux is located in Pessac-Léognan , in the Bordeaux wine region. The estate was founded in the 13th century and over the next six centuries its ownership was passed down to many of France's bourgeois families, including the Bouchereau family (founders of Clos des Millésimes). The château's modern history begins in the mid-1900s, when it was purchased by the Perrin family . Marc Perrin and his son first began a major replanting campaign that brought the estate to 45 hectares in 1970 and then to 70 hectares in 1980, reaching nearly 95 hectares today. Château Carbonnieux is committed to practicing organic and sustainable agriculture throughout the vineyard and is labeled HVE3 (High Environmental Value Level 3).
Château Carbonnieux Rouge 2020 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (5%) . After the manual harvest, the vatting lasts 3 to 4 weeks in stainless steel vats with pumping over. The aging lasts 15 to 18 months in barrels, 35% of which are new.
