Before 1998, when Château Pavie was purchased by the Perse family, the wines did not quite express the full quality of the exceptional terroir; and for this reason the property did not enjoy the same reputation as its neighbours. Already the owners of Pavie-Decesse and Monbousquet, the Perse family undertook major investments, with a view to enhancing the quality of the production. Thanks to this now undeniable improvement, recent vintages have been a great commercial success, especially with lovers of new oak and its accompanying aromas of vanilla, cinnamon, roasted flavours, undergrowth, etc.
