The Château du Cartillon, Cru Bourgeois du Haut-Médoc, is located in the town of Lamarque, between the Margaux and Saint-Julien appellations. This 69-hectare estate, including 44 vines, is operated and distributed by the Crus and Domaines de France . Present on the Place de Bordeaux for 5 generations, they represent the Bordeaux branch of the Grands Chais de France group. With 15 estates and nearly 400 hectares, they are a major player in the region . We can also mention, in the group's estates, the Châteaux Lestage-Simon and Sergant, also selected by Bernard Burtschy.
Vincent Cachau, one of the group's oenologists, describes his work as follows: helping the terroir to give the best possible grapes to allow it to express itself through oenological work that respects its typicity . This is materialized, in the vines, by controlled yields and in the cellar, by the presence of Michel Rolland since the 2010 vintage .
