Château MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 1984 - Perfect condition
Château Mouton Rothschild has 90 hectares of vines north-west of Bordeaux, on the edge of the Medoc peninsula itself, as its name indicates, in medio aquae, in the middle of the waters: in the east the estuary of the Gironde, in the West the Atlantic Ocean. The Médoc vineyard, which dates back to Roman times, currently has an area of approximately 16,500 hectares. It is planted on a narrow strip of land 80 km long and 5 to 10 wide, close to the river which irrigates it in depth and moderates the differences in temperature. Backed by the northern tip of the Landes forest, it enjoys the mild ocean climate while being protected from its excesses.
In Mouton, from the care of the vine to the bottling, all the operations are carried out by the best specialists. From the winemaker who plows, pruning, treats, clarifies, expresses, to the head of culture following the ripening of the grapes, to the winemaker who watches over the vinification, to the technical director in charge of the whole and who decides on the assemblages. Often, the men and women who "make" sheep follow each other from generation to generation, passing on ancestral know-how that is enriched over the years by the use of the most modern techniques. That's how, always different according to the vintages, but always the same - witness his legendary blackcurrant flavor! - and always at the top, the Château deserves its motto: "Sheep does not change".
