The estate, located in Gevrey Chambertin, whose creation dates back to the beginning of the 20th century by Armand Rousseau who decided to sell wines directly in the 1920s. It comprises more than 15 hectares, including 8.5 hectares of Grands Crus and 3, 8 hectares of 1st growths vinified in sustainable agriculture, with vines on limestone and clay-limestone soils.
Six emblematic Grands Crus of Burgundy are produced by the Armand Rousseau estate: Chambertin, Charmes Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Ruchottes Chambertin, Mazy Chambertin and Clos de la Roche. The estate's wines are concentrated and sensual wines, matured for more than 20 months after 2 racking with a grade potential of over 20 years for the Grands Crus, and over 15 years for the 1er Crus. The 2014 Chambertin is particularly successful, rated 19.5 / 20 by Bettane and Desseauve and 19/20 by the RVF, it is qualified as King Chambertin in his majesty. He has integrated his 100% new barrel aging without batting an eyelid. Full, racy, an idea of quiet strength. The Charmes Chambertin 2014 is for its part a wine with an apparent sweetness of the fruit, a wine with good potential for development. The estate produces world-famous Gevrey Chambertin 1er Crus such as Gevrey Clos St Jacques, which is equal to the Grands Crus in many vintages, including the 2014 described as a very sappy, spicy, racy, straightforward, slender and deep wine: what superlatives!
