Domaine Trévallon is located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-du-Grès, on the northern slopes of the Alpilles in Provence . The property covers 17 hectares, composed of vineyards, scrubland, holm oaks, olive trees and almond trees. In 1950, Jacqueline and René Dürrbach bought Mas Chabert and in 1960, the adjoining property: Trévallon. Eloi Dürrbach planted the first vines in 1973, and managed the vineyard with Floriane for more than thirty years, until his death in November 2021. The emblematic labels of the bottles are the work of René Dürrbach, Eloi's father, painter and sculptor and friend of many painters, including Pablo Picasso. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2007.
The Rouge de Trévallon is a blend of equal parts Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon . Vinification is carried out without destemming, yeast addition, or sulfur. Aging lasts 24 months in tuns with racking limited to the strict minimum and contact with the lees that nourish the wine throughout this period. The Red is best enjoyed the first year (decanted) after bottling. You will then have to wait at least ten years to appreciate it again.
Grape varieties: 50% Syrah, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
