Created in 2015 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the house of Nikka, the Nikka 12 years old is an exception in Nikka's current portfolio which has virtually ceased the production of expressions with mention of age. To concoct this 12-year-old blend and celebrate its venerable age with dignity, the house of Nikka has assembled single malts distilled in Yoichi and Miyagikyo with Nikka Coffey Grain.

The personality of this 12 year old blend is due to the mellow and vanilla sweetness of Nikka Coffey Grain but it is largely dominated by the single malts that go into its composition, it recalls the 12 year old Taketsuru but with even more assertive spicy notes and a hint of bitterness. The wide aromatic palette of this fruity and chocolate blend makes it a gourmet whiskey in any case.
