50% Cabernet franc - 30% merlot - 20% syrah
Magnificent success that Le vignoble d'Elian 2016 from Domaine Elian Da Ros.
The nose is charming with notes of ripe black fruits and liquorice.
The palate is long with fruity and spicy notes.
The Elian Da Ros estate produces some of the most interesting organic wines in the South West. In an appellation dominated over 95% by a cooperative, Élian Da Ros produces real organic nuggets at reasonable prices.
Audacious bet that this installation a stone's throw from the great Bordeaux vineyards in the Côtes du Marmandais appellation!
Élian Da Ros, after having studied in Alsace alongside Zind Humbrecht, returned to his native region and took over his father's vineyard and gradually increased the area of the estate to encompass the most beautiful terroirs of Cocumont.
The vineyard of the Elian Da Ros estate is planted with the main grape varieties present in Bordelais: merlot, cabernet, sauvignon and cabernet franc which bring a real balance, treated in assemblage with an indigenous grape variety “the abouriou” which he assimilates to a gamay of the South West. Each plot is cultivated in bio-dynamics, harvested and vinified separately and then assembled in the different cuvées. Its first harvest dates from 1998. An estate where the majority of the vintages are certified organic.
