LA RESERVE DE LÉOVILLE BARTON 2015 - Second wine of Château Leoville Barton
If the Irishman Thomas Barton set up his trading business in Chartrons in 1725, it was not until 1821 that his grandson Hugh acquired Château Langoa, then in 1826 part of the former Léoville estate, property born at the beginning of the 17th century and split into several parts during the Revolution. An estate that has since remained in the Barton family (Lilian Barton Sartorius since 2006), whose some 50 ha of vines extend to the south of the village of Saint-Julien. No residence or cellar here, vinification and aging take place in Langoa.
The second wine is very pleasant with its freshness, its very velvety tannins and its aromas of red fruits and flowers underlined by a strong woodiness. A nice approach to discover later the great wine.
Assembly; Caberent sauvignon 70%, Merlot 22%, and Cabernet franc 8%
