Its olfactory expression is well balanced, welcoming, fresh, fine and harmonious. It reveals notes of fresh citrus, bergamot, kumquat, ripe lemon, applesauce. We can easily guess the nature of the terroir giving to this racy wine with a noble character due to the granite rock. It takes us into a universe of minerality all in lace. The tense, multidimensional palate with an almost imperceptible rocky taste gives it an originality, a unique personality. This wine is harmonious, balanced, dry with a distinguished and well-balanced strength. Very long finish, vivacious without any harshness.
The estate, born from the union of the Mann and Barthelmé families, two great lines of winegrowers since the 17th century, has been delivering wines of the highest caliber for several years now, emblem of the greatest Alsace can produce. And it was not the titles to fame that made the brothers Jacky and Maurice Barthelmé fall asleep on their laurels, assisted by Marie-Claire and Marie-Thérèse.
They continue, thanks to meticulous work in the vines and a very sharp sense of vinification, to carry the colors of this endearing estate high. Certified biodynamic in 2013, it is one of the jewels of France. The balance of the wines, their digestible side and their depth make them models for all amateurs. Pinots Noirs are at the top of Alsatian production, and among the finest in France.
Located in Wettolsheim in the Haut-Rhin, Domaine Albert Mann has established itself over time as one of the locomotives of viticulture in Alsace. It must be said that Domaine Albert Mann enjoys a privileged location, in a region of ancient wine-growing tradition. Wettolsheim wine is indeed mentioned from the Middle Ages, when the vines began to cover the hills surrounding the town. Benefiting from the proximity of Colmar and the commercial power of Strasbourg, from which its wines were transported throughout Europe from the 16th century, the Wettolsheim vineyard developed gradually until the beginning of the last century. The poor harvests and the damage caused to the vines by various parasites put a stop to the production of the commune.
