This château occupies an appellation in itself and produces one of the most famous wines in France. Located within the Condrieu appellation, the terroir of Château Grillet is made up of a host of small terraces perfectly exposed to the South. The soil is granite and the grape varieties in this vineyard are made up entirely of Viognier. Today it belongs to the Artemis group and is managed by Frédéric Engeger (also at the head of Château Latour in Bordeaux and of Domaine Eugénie in Burgundy). The plot selection is rigorous and the wines are aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (20% new).
An exceptional wine that it would be a shame to miss.
