CLOS MOGADOR 1994
Clos Mogador is the masterpiece of René Barbier. It is, indeed, to this Rhodanian trained in Burgundy and Bordeaux that we owe the existence of this great Spanish wine.
Nestled on a magnificent schistous soil, Clos Mogador delivered its first harvest in 1989 after nearly ten years of hard work. Combining protection of natural cycles and modern techniques, Clos Mogador is produced at the price of a colossal work. Therefore, at the beginning of the vinification of Clos Mogador, René Barbier presses the grapes by the mean of an olive press which has the effect of extracting half less juice than a conventional press. As a result, Clos Mogador wines become much more concentrated.
The 1994 vintage in Spain has benefited from an exceptional meteorology that has naturally led to a great vintage, with healthy and perfectly ripe fruits. The wines are very structured with a significant aging potential.
