Domaine Christophe Peyrus - Pic Saint Loup 2016
Domaine Christophe Peyrus is located in Languedoc, in Pic-Saint-Loup. This is a relatively young estate since Christophe Peyrus created it in 2013 after having worked and co-managed the famous Clos Marie. He manages the estate with Jean Vallon (the mayor of the village of Cazevieille), Christian Luchessa (a businessman) and Olivier Chauffour (an art lover), all sharing the same passion for wine. The vineyard covers 6.5 hectares grown organically and planted with Syrah and Grenache vines on the Cazevieille terroir.
The 2016 Pic-Saint-Loup is made from Syrah (80%) and Grenache (20%) whose average age varies between 15 and 20 years. The harvest is manual and 60 to 70% of the bunch is not destemmed during the vinification. Aging is carried out in conic barrels for 20 months.
Grape varieties: 80% Syrah, 20% Grenache
