Petit Renouil - Vignobles Ponty 2017
Les Vignobles Ponty is located in the Libournais in Bordeaux. It is a family estate that has existed since 1905 when Victor Ponty, the great-grandfather from Corrèze, settled in Fronsac to produce and sell wine. Since 2019, Hélène Ponty is the fifth generation of the Ponty family at the head of the vineyards, after Victor, Jean, François and Michel.
Petit Renouil is the second wine of Château Grand Renouil, produced for the first time in 1954. Château Grand Renouil disappeared for a while during the Revolution, but reappeared in 1938 thanks to the Ponty family. The Petit Renouil vineyard is located on the same slope as that of the first wine, but comes from younger Merlot vines: around 40 years against 80 years for Château Grand Renouil.
Grape varieties: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
