Héritiers Madkaud - Rhum vieux - VSOP - 40%
Rhum Madkaud is an agricultural rum distilled and bottled exclusively in Martinique. It appeared in 1895 with its founder Félicien Madkaud, a son of a Martinican slave born free in 1857. It was produced by the family distilleries of Fond-Capot (in Carbet) and Carabin (in Lorrain) between 1895 and 1970 and has been since distilled at the Sainte-Mariemulti-brand production site. Today, Stéphane Madkaud, descendant of Félicien, owns the brand.
The Rum V.S.O.P. Castelmore is an aged agricultural rum produced from pure sugar cane juice, without blending, without artificial flavour and without added sugar which has been aged in oak barrels for 4 to 5 years. Launched in 2012, this cuvée refers to Lieutenant General Jean-Charles de Baas-Castelmore, Governor General of the French Antilles and Musketeer of Louis XIV, first occupant in 1674 of the Fond Capot house where the Madkaud house was subsequently founded.
