LA GRANGE TIPHAINE - Bel Air 2018
La Grange Tiphaine is located in the Loire Valley, and produces wines in the appellations of Montlouis-sur-Loire,Touraine and Touraine-Ambroise. The 15-hectare vineyard is an exploitation dating from 1850, then specialised in polyculture (tobacco, cereals ...) and which sees its first vines in the 1970s. The domain was bought in 2002 by Coralie and Damien Delecheneau and they work today together, assisted by two employees: Mathieu and Jean-Rémy. They decided to convert the vineyard to organic farming and obtained biodynamic certification in 2014.
Bel Air is made from Chenin Blanc, which is around 70 years old and grown on a terroir of red clay with flint and outcrop of limestone rock. The harvest is manual, with a sorting table on the plot. The pressing is long and delicate, made in whole bunch. Alcoholic fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, then the wine is aged for 3 months in concrete vats, on fine lees.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
