Domaine Peyre Rose - Marlène Soria - Syrah Léone 2010
Domaine Peyre Rose is located in Saint-Pargoire, between Béziers and Montpellier in the Languedoc region. It belongs to the well-known winegrower Marlène Soria. Although coming from a family of winegrowers in the region, she had started her career in real estate before entering wine. In 1973, she bought the Peyre Rose estate as a second home with her husband, but following the real estate crisis, she decided to stay there full time and spent three years clearing the land before planting her first vines in 1982. Despite the difficulties, Marlène Soria vinified for the first time in 1988. It was a success but she encountered some problems, in particular the pollution of her winery in which she had invested a lot. Anxious to market wines of impeccable quality, she gave up three vintages. Passionate about nature and ecologically oriented, Marlène Soria cultivates her 25 hectares of vines and produces organically grown wines.
Syrah Léone is a blend predominantly of Syrah. Aging lasts nearly 10 years with 25% in casks and the rest in vats. The wine is then refined in the bottle.
