Château L'EVANGILE 2012
Château L’Evangile is located in the town of Pomerol, in Bordeaux. The Léglise family, originally from Libourne, is at the origin of Château L’Évangile. In 1862, L'Évangile was bought by Paul Chaperon whose heirs, the Ducasse family, remained owners until 1990. On the death of Paul Chaperon around 1900, his descendants led the property to Louis Ducasse in 1957 who took over the property in decline and strongly affected by the frosts of 1956. He will successfully endeavor to renew the vineyard and restore the rank of L'Évangile. From 1982, it is his widow, Simone Ducasse, who will ensure the family continuity. In 1990, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) acquired L’Évangile from the Ducasse family. The 22-hectare vineyard is managed by Olivier Trégoat, Technical Director of Château L’Evangile, Château Rieussec, Château Paradis Casseuil and Domaine de Long Dai.
Château L’Evangile is a blend of Merlot (80 to 90%) and Cabernet Franc (10 to 20%). The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, 70% of which are new.
