Domaine de Beudon - Gamaret 2018
Domaine de Beudon is located in Valais, Switzerland. It is a wine estate established on a steep rock outcrop 305 meters above the bottom of the valley. The vineyards are only accessible by cable car, a private configuration belonging to the Domaine de Beudon, or by foot via steep mountain tracks. It is the only producer of wine in this place and the wines of the domain are produced in tiny quantities, from a few hectares of vines. The Domaine de Beudon has belonged to Jacques Granges and his wife Marion since 1971. They have worked tirelessly to remove all chemicals from their vineyards and cellars, and have now successfully transitioned to full biodynamic viticulture. Beudon wines very rarely arrive outside Switzerland and on the international market.
Gamaret is a grape variety unique to Switzerland. It is a cross between Gamay and Reichensteiner, created by André Jaquinet in 1970. It is vinified in stainless steel and aged on its lees in stainless steel too.
Grape variety: 100% Gamaret
