Weingut Straka is located in Rechnitz, in Austria. The family-owned winery benefits from a unique location: at the southern foothills of the Günser Gebirge, which separates the mid from the southern part of Burgenland and which is the change over from the eastern part of the alps to the Hungarian lowlands (Pannonian plain).
This wine is made from Welschriesling, an old Austrian grape variety not related to the white Riesling. Even though Welschriesling is known to make lusciously sweet wines, this one is dry. It was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks.
Grape variety: 100% Welschriesling
