Domaine OSTERTAG - Fronholz - Pinot Gris 2018

Domaine Ostertag is located in the village of Epfig, in Alsace. The Ostertag family founded the domaine in 1966. André Ostertag has modernised the winery since taking over, introducing biodynamic farming in 1998 and aging the domaine's Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc wines in oak barrels. The five vineyards are located in the villages of Epfig, Nothalten, Itterswiller, Ribeauvillé, and Albé.

This Pinot Gris comes from 20 ares cultivated on the Fronholz plot. It is harvested fairly early but the grapes are perfectly ripe, with no attempt to overripe. The wine is vinified dry, with aging in barrels to obtain a light controlled oxygenation.
