Château des Coulinats 1967
The Château des Coulinats is located in Gabarnac, in the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation. This small region is located about forty kilometers south of Bordeaux, facing the Sauternes region. The whole town extends over 850 hectares including 450 hectares of vineyards. The Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation benefits from a vineyard with a precious terroir for the production of a great sweet white wine: it is built on a panoramic plateau formed by immense beds of fossil oysters accumulated during the tertiary era. Château des Coulinats has belonged to the Brun family for 6 generations and is managed today by Thomas Meilhan, agricultural engineer and oenologist.
This wine is a blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc produced from botrytised grapes. 1967 is considered an excellent vintage in Sainte-Croix-du-Mont.
Grape varieties: Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc
