Château DES ANNEREAUX 2018
Château des Annereaux is located in Lalande-de-Pomerol, in the Bordeaux wine region. The presence of the Annereau family in the region dates back to 1390 but it was not until 1660 that their wine industry developed. That year, Marguerite Annereau married André Malescot and for more than two hundred years, the Malescot family was at the head of the Annereaux. In 1818, the "manor" was raised by one floor. In 1873, Caroline Soehnée took over the management of the Domaine des Annereaux. She bravely faced the phylloxera crisis by choosing the camp of "Americanists" favorable to grafting against "chemists" (favorable to the fight by carbon disulphide). She conducts grafting and rootstock trials with scientific rigor. His efforts were rewarded in 1879 by the Comice Viticole et Agricole de Libourne. In 1912, the "manor" was revamped and took on the appearance of an Italian villa with its pink plaster, it is now called "Castle". In 1956, after the difficulties of the war and economic problems, a terrible frost destroyed a large part of the vineyard, and the Annereau family resigned themselves to completely uprooting the 35 hectares of vineyards. In 1969, Jean Milhade, wine grower and wine merchant, bought half of the Indivision des Annereaux and began replanting the vineyard. In 2004, the heirs of Jean Milhade who still hold half of the shares in the former joint ownership wish to separate: Dominique and Marie-Hélène Hessel bought them, thus reconstituting the family estate. In 2010, they obtained certification in organic farming.
