LEON BARRAL - Tradition 2018
Domaine Léon Barral is located in the village of Cabrerolles, in the Faugères appellation in Languedoc-Roussillon. Didier Barral founded the estate in the early 1990s and named it in honor of his grandfather. The estate has 30 hectares of vineyards cultivated in biodynamics but certified in organic farming, planted on schist soils. Domaine Léon Barral uses a gravity flow system in the cellar. Once harvested, most grapes are destemmed, but some bunches can be kept whole for the vinification. The grapes are fermented in cement vats using natural yeasts. The maceration period lasts three to four weeks, and the grapes are then gently pressed in an old wooden basket press. After aging, the wines are bottled without racking, fining or filtration.
Faugères Tradition is a blend of Carignan (60%), Grenache (30%) and Cinsault (10%) from several plots, aged in cement and stainless steel vats for 24 months.
Grape varieties: 60% Carignan, 30% Grenache, 10% Cinsault
