Mas Bruguiere - L'Arbouse - Pic Saint-Loup 2020
Mas Bruguière is located in the Pic Saint Loup appellation, in Languedoc. The birth of the estate began after the Revolution under the impetus of Antoine Bruguière who acquired land, woods, fields and practiced vine cultivation for the first time. In the 1870s, the Languedoc vines were destroyed by phylloxera. Pierre decides to replant from 1880 and the estate is moving towards a monoculture of the vine. In 1974, Guilhem Bruguière changed the history of the terroir and moved towards a qualitative culture; he uprooted and replanted traditional grape varieties and in 1986 began to vinify the first cuvée which celebrated his status as an independent winegrower. Today, his son Xavier is at the head of the family estate and has converted the domaine to organic farming. The 10 hectares of vines are made up of 2 islets: Rocher de la Bergère and La Plaine.
L’Arbouse is a blend of Syrah (50%), Grenache (25%) and Mourvèdre (25%). After the manual harvest, vinification is carried out in concrete vats. The wine is aged in foudres.
Grape varieties: 50% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre
