Domaine Peyre Rose - Marlène Soria - Syrah Leone 2006
Domaine Peyre Rose is located in Saint-Pargoire, between Béziers and Montpellier in the Languedoc region. It belongs to the well-known winemaker Marlène Soria . Although she comes from a family of winegrowers in the region, she began her career in real estate before going into wine. In 1973, she bought the Peyre Rose estate as a second home with her husband, but following the real estate crisis, she decided to stay there full time and spent three years clearing the land before planting her first vines in 1982. difficulties, Marlène Soria vinifies for the first time in 1988. Success is there but she encounters some problems, in particular the pollution of her vat room in which she had invested a lot. Anxious to market wines of irreproachable quality, it gives up three vintages. Passionate about nature and turned towards ecology, Marlène Soria cultivates her 25 hectares of vines and produces wines in organic culture .
Syrah Léone is a predominantly Syrah blend. The aging lasts nearly 10 years with 25% in tuns and the rest in vats. The wine is then refined in the bottle. The 2006 vintage in Languedoc was a great success . The summer was very hot, particularly in July, but the temperatures dropped sharply in August, slowing down the ripening phase of the grapes. At harvest, the grapes were perfectly balanced and in impeccable sanitary condition.
