Domaine Peyre Rose - Marlene Soria - Belle Leone 2012
Domaine Peyre Rose is located in Saint-Pargoire, between Béziers and Montpellier in the Languedoc region. It belongs to the well-known winemaker Marlène Soria . Although she comes from a family of winegrowers in the region, she began her career in real estate before going into wine. In 1973, she bought the Peyre Rose estate as a second home with her husband, but following the real estate crisis, she decided to stay there full time and spent three years clearing the land before planting her first vines in 1982. difficulties, Marlène Soria vinifies for the first time in 1988. Success is there but she encounters some problems, in particular the pollution of her vat room in which she had invested a lot. Anxious to market wines of irreproachable quality, it gives up three vintages. Passionate about nature and turned towards ecology, Marlène Soria cultivates her 25 hectares of vines and produces wines in organic culture .
Belle Léone is a predominantly Syrah blend. The aging lasts nearly 10 years with 25% in tuns and the rest in vats. The wine is then refined in the bottle. The 2012 vintage was difficult in the Languedoc: drought, hail, rain, heat… Fortunately, windy episodes prevented vine diseases and the grapes that survived the heat and storms were able to perfect their maturity.
