Massandra - Black muscat - Massandra collection of Kuchuk Lambat 1932
Domaine de Massandra is located in Crimea , on the shores of the Black Sea. It was founded on the order of Tsar Nicolas II who wanted a prestigious estate to supply the court with wines, in particular during his vacations in the Crimea on the shores of the Black Sea. The aging cellar is dug into the mountain.
Auction house Sotheby's has purchased a large collection of Massandra wines previously owned by Tsar Nicholas II. Many wines from the estate have demonstrated their very long aging potential; the famous collection of more than a million bottles located at the estate makes it possible to regularly organize exceptional tastings. During a tasting in London, a bottle of Massandra from the 1945 vintage was opened and its aging potential was estimated at at least 2040, an aging potential close to a century.
Varietal: Black Muscat (Muscat Hamburg, Muskat Trollinger)
