Eva Fricke - Mix 2020
Domaine Eva Fricke is located in Eltville, in the Rheingau region of Germany . After completing her oenology studies in Geisenheim, Eva Fricke worked in Australia, Bordeaux, Piedmont and Ribera Del Duero. Attracted by the Rheingau, she became a winemaker at Weingut Leitz. In 2006, she began making her own wine as a side project from less than 0.25 hectares of vines. Over the next six years, she rented and bought enough vineyards to leave Leitz and go freelance in 2011. From her small beginnings, Eva Fricke has now built a vineyard with 17 hectares of vines. From the beginning, she has been committed to organic and biodynamic farming methods , believing not only in the environmental benefits but also in the fact that they allow a greater expression of the terroir. There is a growing movement towards sustainability in the region as a new generation looks to tradition to bring out the best in the vineyards and soils. In keeping with its low intervention philosophy , fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts. The wines spend 4 to 10 months on fine lees to acquire substance and complexity while retaining the freshness of the grape variety.
Blend is a blend of old vines from the vineyards of Eltville and Hattenheim. The loess and partly silt soils are interspersed with pebbles or quartzite. This Riesling is dry.
