Domaine Jean Claude Ramonet - Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes 2019
Domaine Ramonet is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy . Pierre Ramonet began buying land on the Montrachet hill in the 1930s and by the 1950s owned land in several Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. In the 1970s he acquired part of the famous Le Montrachet site, and now Ramonet owns over 15 hectares of vines, producing wines ranging from Village level to Grand and Premier Cru. Following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s, the brothers Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet took over the estate. Today, the two brothers separated by mutual agreement. Noël just wants to work his vines and deliver his grapes to his brother Jean-Claude who will be in charge of winemaking and marketing. The wines now have two labels: that of Domaine Ramonet and that of the Jean-Claude Ramonet trade.
Old vines and low yields are the cornerstones of Ramonet's viticultural philosophy. After a traditional fermentation, the white wines are kept on the lees for an extended period, with stirring much less frequently than usual. The red and white wines are aged in 33% new barrels .
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
