Château BEAUREGARD 2019
Château Beauregard is located east of Pomerol , close to Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux region. The property was founded in 1677 by Bernard Beauregard , although it did not become a large-scale wine producer until the 1800s. In 1991 it left family ownership and was acquired by BPCE Bank. BPCE then sold it in 2014 to a partnership between the Moulin family , owners of the Galeries Lafayette and Monoprix retail businesses, and the Cathiards of Smith Haut Lafitte. The vineyard extends over 17.5 hectares where more than 35 plots are cultivated in organic farming .
Château Beauregard is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc where the grapes are fermented in large modern cement vats at controlled temperatures. The wine is aged for 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels , with approximately two thirds of new wood. The 2019 vintage is considered a very good vintage. The wines are described as having moderate to high alcohol levels, with sophisticated tannins and aromatic qualities favoring elegance over power.
