Château de Pitray - Les Prairies 2020
Château de Pitray is located in Gardegan, on the edge of Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux wine region. It is considered one of the oldest family properties in Bordeaux since its history began in 1466 when Jehan de La Symas (known as Simard) bought a plot of vines from his neighbor in Saint-Emilion. From 1965, Louis de Simard de Pitray modernized the winery and opened up new markets in the United States and Great Britain. The descendants, Alix de Pitray and her husband the Comte de Boigne, bought the first barrels to age the wines of Pitray in the early 1990s. . Since 2020, the property has been operated by Jean de Boigne and Nina Mitjaville participates in the vinification of the cuvées.
