Grattamacco - Bolgheri Rosso 2020
Podere Grattamacco is located between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri, in the Tuscany region of Italy . The estate was founded in 1977 by Piermario Meletti Cavallari and since 2002 has belonged to the Castello Colle Massari wine group. The estate covers an area of 80 hectares of which 29 hectares are planted with vines and 4 hectares with olive trees. Bolgheri enjoys a dry climate and significant temperature variations. Unlike other Tuscan wine appellations such as Chianti, Sangiovese continues to be grown, but less and less frequently; the main blends are composed of Bordeaux grape varieties.
Bolgheri Rosso is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Cabernet Franc (20%), Merlot (20%) and Sangiovese (10%) . The grapes come from 10 hectares of vines with an average age of 20 years, located 100 meters above sea level. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in open oak barrels. The malolactic fermentation occurs in barrels of one wine and two wines where the wine is aged for 8 months . It is aged in the bottle for several months before being marketed.
