Domaine Calmel & Joseph - The Seven Wells 2017

Domaine Calmel & Joseph is located in Montirat, in Languedoc . This trading house specializing in Languedoc-Roussillon wines covers a total of 200 hectares, at the crossroads of Corbières, Limoux and Malepère, Cabardès and Minervois. The vineyards are located between 240 and 300 meters above sea level. Natural and environmentally friendly cultivation and vinification methods are applied, without certification . The Calmel & Joseph range comes from rigorous plot selections, rather focused on very cool terroirs .

Les Sept Puits comes from the Saint-Chinian appellation. It is a blend of Syrah (30%), Grenache (20%), Mourvèdre (20%), Carignan (20%) and Cinsault (10%) . Light pumping over is carried out during vinification. The vatting lasts 4 weeks with 6 months aging in concrete vats . The wine is then placed in one-wine barrels for 12 months .
