The Château de Monluc is located in Saint-Puy, in the Gers department. Created in 1963, the famous Pousse Rapière cocktail is consumed as an aperitif and is the result of the mixture of the Pousse Rapière liqueur associated with Vin Sauvage, the sparkling wine of the traditional method of Château de Monluc. The recipe for Pousse Rapière is an Armagnac liqueur flavored with bitter orange . This liqueur is an exclusive production of the Château de Monluc whose recipe is kept secret. Le Pousse Rapière is available in three different degrees of alcohol: 20%, 24% and 36%.
Vin Sauvage is made from Ugni Blanc and Gros Manseng . The wines are blended and then bottled with a liqueur de liqueur for the second fermentation according to the traditional method. With its Extra Dry dosage, it contains between 12 and 17 g/L of residual sugar.
