Château DES ANNEREAUX 2019
Château des Annereaux is located in Lalande-de-Pomerol , in the Bordeaux wine region. The presence of the Annereau family in the region dates back to 1390 but it was not until 1660 that the wine-growing activity developed. That year, Marguerite Annereau married André Malescot and for more than two hundred years, the Malescot family was at the head of Les Annereaux. In 1818, the "manor" was raised by one floor. In 1873, Caroline Soehnée took over the management of the Domaine des Annereaux. She courageously confronted the phylloxera crisis by choosing the camp of the “Americanists” favorable to grafting against the “chemists” (favorable to the fight with carbon disulphide). She conducts grafting and rootstock trials with scientific rigor. His efforts were rewarded in 1879 by the Comice Viticole et Agricole de Libourne. In 1912, the "manor" was revamped and took on the appearance of an Italian villa with its pink roughcast, it is now called "Château". In 1956, after the difficulties of the war and economic problems, a terrible frost destroyed a large part of the vineyard, and the Annereau family resigned themselves to completely uprooting the 35 hectares of vineyards. In 1969, Jean Milhade , winegrower and wine merchant, bought half of the Indivision des Annereaux and began replanting the vineyard. In 2004, the heirs of Jean Milhade who still hold half of the shares of the former joint ownership wish to part with it: Dominique and Marie-Hélène Hessel buy them back, thus reconstituting the family estate. In 2010, they obtained certification in organic farming .
