Sebestyen Szekszard - Mozaik Bikavér 2019
Sebestyén Pince is located in the Szekszárd region of Hungary . The estate was founded in 1998 and today is managed by siblings Csaba and Csilla Sebestyén . Csilla Sebestyén spent several years in Scotland, as sommelier at the 2-star Michelin restaurant Andrew Fairlie. His international experience has helped the estate focus on making wines with international varieties, complementing local varieties. The 12.5 hectare estate is made up of 5 vineyards: Iván-Völgy, Görögszó, Nána, Szentgál and Porkoláb-Völgy.
Bikavér (meaning "bull's blood") is a traditional Hungarian wine that blends international and local grape varieties. Mozaik is a blend of Kékfrankos (45%), Cabernet Franc (19%), Merlot (18%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Kadarka (8%) . The grapes come from 3 vineyards (Iván-Völgy, Porkoláb-Völgy and Görögszó) and the age of the vines varies from 4 to 60 years. After the manual harvest, vinification is carried out in open vats and maceration lasts 7 days. The wine is aged for 24 months in new barrels and used barrels of 5 hectoliters .
