Domaine Chiroulet - Terres Blanches 2021
Domaine Chiroulet is located in the Gers, on the lands of Armagnac, in Gascony . It was created in 1893 and the property then covered 5 hectares dedicated to polyculture and livestock. Alban Sourbès, winegrower and distiller experienced the dark years of phylloxera and led the estate until 1935. The property was passed on to his niece, Suzanne Capmartin, and her husband Albert Fezas designed an extension project which was never to come to fruition. because of World War II. It was his grandson and current owner Philippe Fezas who diversified the activities of the estate. Nearing completion, the transition to organic farming reinforces a commitment that extends to the environment close to the vines, in an agroforestry project. This principle, beneficial to the vine ecosystem, makes it possible to relocate the biomass on the plots, to regulate the auxiliary fauna and the ambient microclimate. It is in a responsible spirit and a holistic approach that the Domaine Chiroulet is thus operated.
Terres Blanches is a blend of Gros Manseng (55%), Sauvignon Blanc (35%) and Ugni Blanc (10%) . The vines are grown on soil characterized by limestone outcrops called rentzines, restoring the minerality of the Ténarèze terroir.
Grapes: 55% Gros Manseng, 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Ugni Blanc
