Ferdinand's Saar Dry Gin is produced at the Avadis Distillery , located in the Saar wine region of Germany . It takes its name from the royal ranger Ferdinand Geltz and is inspired by the generous region of Saarland and its traditions. The Vallendar family has been distilling spirits for several generations in the village of Wincheringen, combining craftsmanship and alchemy.
Saar Dry Gin is infused with selected Riesling grapes from the VDP Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken estate, one of Germany's finest vineyards. Master distiller Andreas Vallendar uses more than 30 botanicals : sloe, angelica, hops, rosehip, almond, quince, coriander, licorice, juniper, apple mint, bitter orange, fennel, passion flower, lavender, jasmine, sandalwood, rubinette apple, ginger, Riesling grapes, balsam, lemon thyme, elderflower, vine peach, rosehip, lemon, lemon verbena, bergamot, rye, cinnamon, pepper, chamomile, nutmeg, spelled, wheat, cardamom and verbena.
