Château Marjosse - White 2019
Château Marjosse is located in Grézillac, in the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation of the Bordeaux wine region. It belongs to Pierre Lurton , the director of Yquem and Cheval Blanc. Purchased in 1991, the vineyard was restructured and a new ultra-modern cellar was built in 2000. Today, the vineyard is mainly planted with red grape varieties, in an appellation usually recognized for its white wines. The particularity of the terroir of Château Marjosse is to be composed of limestone in Astéries , which is also on the terroir of Saint-Emilion.
Château Marjosse Blanc 2019 is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (44%), Sémillon (32%), Sauvignon Gris (20%) and Muscadelle (4%) . Each grape variety is harvested and vinified separately. The grapes are harvested in the morning and then pressed immediately. The juices are protected from oxidation by inerting with dry ice. They are kept cold, on the lees for a few days, in order to release more aromatic precursors. After fermentation, the wines are aged for 2 to 3 months in concrete vats on fine lees with batonnage twice a week. Blending is done before bottling.
