Domaine Pithon Paillé - Grololo - Magnum
Domaine Pithon-Paillé is located in Val-du-Layon, in the Loire Valley. The estate was created in 2008 by Isabelle and Jo Pithon and Joseph and Wendy Paillé, Joseph being Isabelle's son. At the beginning of 2015, Joseph and Wendy left to take care of the Le Soula estate in Roussillon. Jules, Jo's son, and Tania (his Quebec wife, sommelier by training) replaced them to gradually take over the management of Pithon-Paillé. The 13-hectare vineyard is certified organic and divided into several appellations: Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon and Quarts de Chaume. An artisan-winemaker-breeder activity was established from the purchase of grapes.
Grololo was born in 2008 from a family passion. Artisan winemaker from Maine-et-Loire and fervent defender of Anjou wines, Jo Pithon had the project to create a quality convivial cuvée, to share with his friends from the grape pickers, from an indigenous grape variety: Grolleau.
Grololo Rouge comes from Grolleau grown on a clay-loam soil. The wine is made from carbonic maceration and vinification in stainless steel vats.
Grape variety: 100% Grolleau
