Domaine Naudin-Ferrand (Claire Naudin) - Orchis Mascula 2021
Domaine Naudin-Ferrand is located in Magny-les-Villers, in the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy . Claire Naudin took over the estate in 1994. A fan of sustainable viticulture and integrated production, she refuses standardization and prefers an artisanal approach to sustainable viticulture, with minimal interventionism but without certification to organic or biodynamic agriculture. The estate covers around 22 hectares of vines, with a few vintages such as Echezeaux, Aloxe, Ladoix, Nuit-Saint-Georges and the rest in regional appellations.
Orchis Mascula is part of the “Fleur” series by Claire Naudin. This Pinot Noir comes from 3 plots: En Foigery, En Bully and La Grande Corvée de Bully, from vines 30 years old on average. Harvested by hand, the grapes are vinified in whole bunches without pumping over. The free-run wine is blended with the press wine after maceration for 2 weeks. The wine is aged in 228 liter barrels, with a small proportion of new oak, for 18 to 20 months . Sulfur is only used during bottling.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
