Château de Plaisance - Ronceray 2022
The Château de Plaisance is located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, in the heart of Anjou in the Loire Valley. The estate, run in organic farming since 1995 and biodynamic since 2008, was taken over from the Rochais family by Vanessa Cherruau in 2019. This young 32-year-old from Angers cultivates 25 hectares of vines on the terroirs of Chaume, Quarts de Chaume and Savennières. . Château de Plaisance is globally committed to protecting the environment and biodiversity, towards the most neutral carbon footprint possible.
The Ronceray cuvée is made from Chenin Blanc whose vine age is approximately 35 years, and cultivated on 3.75 hectares. The grapes are pressed slowly and coldly, and fermentation occurs with native yeasts. Part of the wine is barreled into Burgundian barrels. Malolactic fermentation is partial and the wine is aged in barrels for 12 months .
At the instigation of several winegrowers of the appellation, Ronceray is the name given to the dry white wines produced in the Chaume Premier Cru and Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru appellation, in homage to the abbesses of Ronceray Abbey, owners of the vines. in the 11th century.
