Domaine François Chidaine - Clos du Breuil 2022
Domaine François Chidaine is located in Montlouis-sur-Loire , in the Loire Valley. The vineyard covers 37 hectares; 20 hectares of Montlouis and 10 hectares of Vouvray . The vines are divided into around fifty plots managed organically since 1992 and certified biodynamic since 1999. The remaining 7 hectares produce wines under the Touraine appellation. Looking to the future, François Chidaine began an adventure in 2010 in Murcia, a province in the south of Spain , where he produces a white wine and a red wine made from local grape varieties.
Clos du Breuil is made from Chenin Blanc harvested manually in Montlouis-sur-Loire with successive sorting, on a 3-hectare plot whose vines are 60 years old. After pressing in a pneumatic press, alcoholic fermentation is carried out by native yeasts in 600 liter demi-muids. It can last up to 6 months. Malolactic fermentation is not sought. The wine is bottled with 2.3 g/L of residual sugars.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
