Château du Glana 2018
Château du Glana is located in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle , in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux . Initially, Château du Glana comprised 5 hectares of vines and, after a series of owners and vineyard extensions, the property was acquired by Gabriel Meffre in 1961. The Meffre family is still in charge today, with Jean-Paul and his two sons Ludovic and Julien who manage the management of the castle and its 60 hectares of vines. They undertook significant renovations to the estate, which included the restoration of the vat room and aging cellars.
Château du Glana 2018 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%). The grapes are put into cold pre-fermentation maceration for 48 hours to extract color, tannins and aromas. Plot vinification is traditional and carried out in concrete and metal vats. Vatting lasts 3 weeks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels, 40% of which are new.
