Domaine HUET - Le Clos du Bourg - Demi Sec 2022
Domaine Huet is located in Vouvray , in the Loire Valley. Founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son Gaston , the estate today has 30 hectares of Chenin Blanc planted on three plots: le Haut-Lieu, le Mont and Clos du Bourg . Huet was one of the precursors of biodynamic cultivation in 1988.
During the harvest, the bunches are picked in successive passages and at optimal maturity according to the desired style of wine, then each plot is vinified separately. The whole bunches are put into the presses without crushing or crushing where they are gently pressed. After settling for 24 hours, the grape juice is poured into two parts: one is put into vats, the other into old barrels. The fermentation time varies depending on the richness of the must and the activity of the native yeasts. Each vintage is kept for 6 months until bottling.
The Le Clos du Bourg plot was acquired by the Huet family in 1953. It now covers 6 hectares and its thin soil is composed of clay and limestone resting on a tuffeau subsoil.
