Château POUJEAUX - The Room of Château Poujeaux 2017
Château Poujeaux is an estate located in the Moulis-en-Médoc sub-appellation in Haut-Médoc, on the left bank of the Gironde in Bordeaux . The castle belongs to the Cuvelier family . Located in Haut-Médoc, Château Poujeaux favors Cabernet Sauvignon in the production of its three wines: the grand wine is mainly made from Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Merlot and smaller quantities of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc .
In the now-defunct 2003 Cru Bourgeois classification, Château Poujeaux received the status of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel – the highest rating for a Médoc château not included in the 1855 classification. In 2010, a heavily revised Cru Bourgeois label was reintroduced which did not establish a tiered system and, as a result, Château Poujeaux and five other houses which had been named Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel formed their own group called Les Exceptionnels outside of the new classification.
La Salle de Château Poujeaux is the second wine of the château. It is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc . The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels used for aging great wine.
Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
