Marchesi di Gresy - Camp Gros Martinenga - Barbaresco Riserva 2017
Marchesi di Gresy (or Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy) is located in Martinenga, in the heart of the Barbaresco appellation in Piedmont , Italy . The property has belonged to the di Gresy family since 1797, and has been producing wine since 1973. The estate has four vineyards: Martinenga in Barbaresco, Monte Aribaldo in Treiso and La Serra and Monte Colombo in Cassine.
The Martinenga vineyard covers 24 hectares. Three different Barbaresco vintages from different parts of the vineyard are produced: Martinenga, Camp Gros Martinenga and Gaiun Martinenga. About half of the vineyard is planted with Nebbiolo, the rest with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Camp Gros Martinenga Riserva is made from Nebbiolo , cultivated between 240 and 290 meters above sea level on a terroir of limestone and blue marl. The age of the vines varies from 35 to 40 years. The wine is aged for 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels from Allier , then 12 to 18 months in Slavonian barrels . It is then aged for 26 months in bottle .
