Bret Brothers - La Soufrandière - Pouilly Fuissé - En Chatenay - Cuvée Zen 2022
La Soufrandière is located in Vinzelles, in the Mâconnais in Burgundy . The estate has 11 hectares of Chardonnay vines, in the appellations of Mâcon-Vinzelles, Pouilly-Vinzelles, Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé and Bourgogne Aligoté . In 2000, Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret vinified their first vintage. They obtained certification in organic farming and then in biodynamics in 2006. In 2001, the two brothers, joined by the third, Marc-Antoine Bret , created their business “Artisan”; the Bret Brothers . They produce a total of 20 micro-cuvées – each wine representing a plot, and a winemaker.
Climat “En Chatenay” is made from Chardonnay vines, which are approximately 55 years old. They are grown on a plot of 0.69 hectares in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The grapes are harvested by hand then vinified and aged in barrels and vats for 17 months
