Domaine Camin Larredya - La Part Davant 2022
Domaine Camin Larredya is located in Chapelle de Rousse, in the Jurançon wine region. It has belonged to Jean-Marc Grussaute since 1988 and was elected “Winemaker of the Year 2023”. The Camin Larredya vineyard covers 9.5 hectares, of which 4 hectares are cultivated on terraces. The vines are grown using certified organic farming , and each vintage comes from a specific plot. The estate also buys conventional grapes from Christian Pédéflous and Philippe Vigneau and Sylvie and David Lacazette.
La Part Davant is a blend of Gros Manseng (50%), Petit Manseng (35%) and Petit Courbu (15%) grown in the eastern part of the vineyard. The vines are aged from 10 to 80 years and are planted on a clay-siliceous terroir on weathered pudding subsoils. After manual harvesting, the whole bunches are put into direct pressing. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in 225 liter barrels, 5% of which are new, and in 2,500 liter tuns. The malolactic conversion is partially carried out. The wine is aged for 6 months on lees , in terracotta jars (34%), in 225 liter barrels (33%) and in 2,500 liter tuns (33%).
